at your local outfitter. MRO has the National Geographic Trails Illustrated map of the Smokys. $10
I used the NatGeo Smokys map for a BMT hike and found it quite adequate.

The BMT uses portions of existing trails, but for the most part, it is labeled BMT.

The new National Geographic/Trails Illustrated Maps that I have seen since September now have the BMT highlighted on them.
If people spent less time being offended and more time actually living, we'd all be a whole lot happier!

There are only topos, the National Geographic, and the Park map.
If you get the NG map, make sure its the latest edition. The latest one should have elevation profile, mileage points, and identifies the BMT/MST. The earlier editions do not have these.

The elevation profile on my Revised 2004 Nat. Geo. map sucks, because of the scale they use makes it worthless. Also, the elevation contours should be at least 100 ft intervals, it has 50 ft intervals

The NG map has some trail that aren't on the NPS map and the NG map forgot to name a trail or two that are on the NPS map. Anyway, its pretty tricky to get lost up there, its marked very well
I like the Earthwalk Press Map of the Smokies. You can get it at the visitor centers at the park
