I bought myself an MSR hubba 1 for an early xmas present, got a wicked good deel on the tent and footprint from REI, both and shipping for $167.00, the tent is a 07 closeout but whocares its still new, just the tent alone usually sells for $ 249.00.

We've got at least 2 feet on the ground in the western 'burbs of Boston. But it's warming up and rain is predicted for this afternoon.

I bought myself a Garmin Nuvi 750 for my truck. Its supposed to arrive today between 10:30 and 2:30. Now I'll be able to find my way to the trail head without getting lost.

I'm still waiting for the rest of the family to get up...

We always open one gift on Christmas Eve. I chose an envelope with an REI return address. My oldest son (who is working today, so he isn't here) gave me a good-sized gift certificate to REI. I think it's going to go towards getting new pair of skis this spring.

We're off to a good start!

I'm also waiting for the rest of my family to get up. Drove to my parents this morning to find all were still asleep. So I decided to see what all you WBers were up to. I bought myself an Olympus 790 and handed it to my parents to wrap and reemburse me. I see it sitting under the tree right now.

    Have a great Christmas everyone!

I just found out last night about a family that has very little so my daughter and I have been scrounging around trying to get stuff together for them. I think they will be very surprised. The packages are coming together nicely, especially considering it is all stuff we have around the house.
Sorry Jak....maybe next year I will add you on my list.

    Very cunning!

We discovered one sad present thing today. #1 son sent some sort of little Apple devices to his brother and sister. Only one was in the box. Research on the FedEx website showed that the second box was delivered to the wrong house and signed for by someone not in our family. On Dec. 17th. The device has not been brought to our house by the lucky recipient. It's not a close neighbor--we don't know who this is or what address it went to. Bummer.
