By way of introduction, my name is Gilbert Petramalo and my trail name is "Bad Rock". I plan to start my hike on the 26th of February at Springer Mountain, Georgia, north-bound. I am 71 years young. I look forward to meeting many of you who are also a part of the Class of 2008.

Happy trails, Bad Rock. I'll be right behind you, getting back on at Dick's Creek Gap in early/mid March, and no doubt will run into you at some point. Trust that you're looking forward to "the journey" as much as me.

From another 08' thru hiker....good luck!!!! Keep warm, February will be cold with snow likely. Even though from I am from Wisconsin and used to snow, my wife (Little bear) who is my thru hiking partner wants it to be warmer...so we will be behind you leaving mid-late March. Hope to see you on the trail!!
