    Default Planning an '09 thru-hike

Hi! I would like to correspond with those planning and contemplating an '09 thru hike. I recently bought all my gear and have dreamt of doing this since the early '90's. I wanted to go this year but have too many responsibilities. I would like to correspond with others who are looking for partners, at least to start out with. I am older now and know it will be tough and would like to know what other's thoughts are who will be attempting a thru-hike as to town resupply, weather extremes, staying healthy, etc... also feel it would be wise to start out with partner(s) who are serious about undertaking this endeavor. I plan a slow and steady approach and wouldn't mind hiking with people who take their time but are truly commited. If interested please correspond.

    Default Keep me in mind

I'm going out this year, nobo, beginning 3/30. I have a thread above yours. Name is Repack. Male, 61 yrs and fit. I might want to do it again next year.... gotta' make it this year first. My two favorite expressions (not orginal): No pain, no rain, no Maine; and: It's not the destination, it's the journey". Good luck. Reply if interested in staying in touch.

I'm also planning an 09 thru. My plan was to head out March 17 or 18th but I think that may be pushed back until late March. Hopefully, I'll see some of you on the trail
