    Default Great Snow Photo

Here is a photo taken by Pace Cooper during a hike up Snake Mountain last week after over two feet of snow fell. That's Greda (the dog) checking out the drifts. Pace says many drifts were over head high. Snake Mtn is about half way between Roan and Rogers near the TN/NC line, and probably represents that region of the AT pretty well.

"Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all." -- Helen Keller

I'm a little jealous. Except for the higher elevations we have only an inch or two of snow here in Idaho. We had a brown Christmas for the most part.
What if the Hokey Pokey really is what it's all about?
