Default Temporary work in trail towns

Hey guys...its about that time huh?

I will be heading out early to mid march for a thru hike north bound with a decent amount of money, but might need to stop for a week or two to make some more. I was wondering if anyone knows of any good trail towns to find some temporary work in and what kind of jobs to look for. Thanks -Tyler

Check with the folks at Bluff Mtn Outfitters in Hot Springs and Mt Rogers Outfitters in Damascus. If any local is looking for short-time help, they let these folks know.

The work is usually stuff like yard work; land clearing; farm work; construction assistance; painting; etc.

It ain't glamourous and you CANNOT rely on finding or getting these jobs, but sometimes you get lucky.

Oh, and check with the ATC office in Harpers Ferry as well.
