PA/NJ Crews?
Anyone know any sites or crews that do trail maintnence in PA/NJ? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

The Mid-Atlantic Trail Crew (which operates from the Scott Farm in the Cumberland Valley, just down the road from Boiling Springs) is the name of the ATC-sponsored crew that handles trail projects in the mid-Atlantic area, which includes Pa. and NJ. ATC's volunteer page should have more info, as SOG points out.
The crew typically spends 5 days in an area, working on one or more projects in concert with the local trail maintaining club, whose members are encouraged to come out and lend a hand. In 2007, as one of their projects, they spent some time at Eckville, working on turnpiking a section of the footpath between Eckville and the Pinnacle which had poor drainage in wet weather.
If you're interested in volunteer trail work in PA, there are other paths that could use a helping hand equally as much as the A.T. Keystone Trails Association http://www.kta-hike.org/ organizes weekend work trips one weekend a month from March through November, and 3 week-long trail crews (Tuesday-Sunday, so if you have only a weekend to spare you can come too) in June. Bring your own food for the weekends, food is provided for the week-longs.
Unfortunately as I type this the KTA web site is still in rebuilding mode and the 2008 dates, although set, are not posted. So for now check out April and June on this calendar for a couple of representative outings: http://www.greateasterntrail.org/volunteers.html
Pennsylvania DCNR conservation volunteers
Pennsylvania DCNR has a conservation volunteer program which matches individuals or groups with appropriate projects.
Wow, thanks for all of the responses everyone. I have done some drainage remediation work on trail systems, and helped to put in some rock steps to an overlook for a couple days. It was fun work, and working with computers, i dont get to get dirty like that very often.
Im going to look into all of these, thanks for the info again!!!
