Atlanta being completly lazy. I finished up last night. If I would have the money I would have hiked north or kept hiking south. 6 months and 1 week was way too fast of a hike.

Congrats to you, Coffee (formerly Hammock Engineer). I never had any doubts you'd make it.

Way to go Coffee!! Going to start a NOBO in the spring or do the so-called real world thing?

Thanks everyone. If I did a Northbound I think it would be more of a flip flop. I was talking to Pirate at Neels gap, the people at cloud9, and standing bear farm. There is no way I want to hike around as many people as there are out there at the start of the rush season. I liked being the only one around or only with my hiking partner and maybe 1 or 2 other people once a week. No way I want to roll into a shelter or hostel and see 30 other people.

What can I say once an anti-social southbounder, always an anti-social southbounder.

I am landing and staying in Atlanta for awhile. Other than the GA AT club are there any good groups or hikes in the area?

The Coosa Backcountry trail is a nice one. Panther Creek trail in Habersham County is very nice and scenic.

Pick up a copy of "The hiking trails of North Georgia" from REI. Great book.

Hey Coffee! I met you on the Lookout, we shared pudding and cookies and checked out the incredible views.
Congrats on finishing up! Good luck adjusting back to the real world... it's been 3 months since I summitted and I'm still a little loopy.

Coffee, how long are you planning to be in the Atlanta area? We get down there on the SW side pretty frequently (got grand and great-grandkids there)
