Default How many Miles This Year?

So here is the question, looking at the old packsniffer thread.

How many miles do you plan on hiking this year? Are you a real hiker...or a cyber hiker?

C'mon doesn't have to be one continuous hike, but how many miles do ya' think you'll get in this year?

I'll go first: 420-450 miles for sure with the small possibility, ok, tiny possibility of a SOBO Thru.

I currently have plans for about 320 mi on the AT in two trips. Will be doing shorter weekend trips here in Michigan and am planning a fall trip to the Tahoe Rim Trail. No idea right now how many miles these other trips will be.

250ish is about all I'll get in, if I'm lucky. 2 days here, 3 days there, maybe a week if a good trip comes up and I can take the time off. I'm pretty much relegated to being a weekend warrior until retirement. It is hard for me to take more than a week off at a time. I'd love to pull off a semi retirement in 5 years but time will tell.

Currently I've done Katahdin to Dalton in '06 and Katahdin through Mt. Moosalauki in '07.
This year I've set aside to do roughly 2,176 miles plus any side trails (see blue blazes) that capture my attention, (Gulf Hagas Trail- I'm looking in your general direction).

doing a lot of trails out here in Oregon where we just moved. I've probably done about 15 miles so far hiking in the Columbia River Gorge. Bucket and I are going out there tomorrow and will add another 5-10 to the list. I'd say by 1/1/09 we'll do 150-300 miles in weekend and day trip jazz?

Hitch, you live in Grants? Do you happen to know Tom Bombadil, CDT trail angel. Great guy.

I had hoped for 1000, but due to knee issues I'm backing off a bit this spring/summer. Hoping for the best on my Fall hike across Spain. So, I'll guesitmate about 600+ this year.
