The map shows parking at/near the Wayah Shelter. Anyone know anything about it?? Like how safe it is to leave a car there? I guess there aren't really any truly "safe" ones but some are worse than others. If I did leave a car there what would my chances be of getting a ride back there from Fontana Dam?

It is about 1/2 mile from the parking lot to this new shelter.Many leaves cars there and I haven't heard of vandalism there but it is in the mountains.You are welcome to leave a car at one of my motels in Franklin free of charge.

I could also arrange a shuttle for you or recommend Jeff Koch at Fontana.Ron
