I once was lost, then I hike the trail
New member here, looks like an awesome forum. I am an avid fly fisherman, not so much an avid hiker. I do 3-5 backpacking trips a year, all centered around fly fishing. I mostly backpack in GSMNP, but have done trips in Pisgah National Forest and Jefferson National Forest.

I think it's time I started being more active here.
I hiked the Bibbulmun Track last year (http://www.trailjournals.com/entry.cfm?trailname=12824) and am pretty well certain I will be hiking the AT in 2013 with a late March start. Will be hiking with my 25yo son Daniel.

Hey Whiteblaze! Thanks for being here! I have the time and money for a thru hike but I'm not sure if I have the dedication or the knees, though! So...it's a maybe leaning towards a probable for taking a shot at a thru hike in 2013. You've already benefited me greatly by guiding me towards much more appropriate gear. Lurking at whiteblaze has also been fantastic for information on expectations of trail life and difficulties.
Hello whiteblaze, Thanks for making this helpfull forum which is giving chance to everybody that they could share and discuss about their views and query with others .
Hi to all on whiteblaze.
Been long distance thru-hiking for a few years. Will be completing the LEJOG (UK) walk in 2013 (1,150 miles)
Looking at thru-hiking the AT in 2014, so lots of time to plan.
I wish you all well.
My sincerest Thanks to all at whiteblaze for providing a very informative site! Although I live in Montana, I hope to visit sometime and hike your beautiful trail. I rode the Blood Mountain Cooler Run while stationed in Alabama a long time ago. I remember wishing I could have hiked the AT then. Although my life has had many twists and turns, I have never given up the dream. Thank you again!
Hello to All!!
I am new to WhiteBlaze and happy that I have stumbled upon this site.
My pack has been in the closet for a while and I look forward to dusting it off early this fall to do some hiking on the AT.
I have recently moved back to the East from California where I was introduced to backpacking in Yosemite and was instantly hooked.
I am gearing up for a short trip sometime in the early fall... wish I could do a thru hike.
Looking forward to strapping my pack and boots on again!!
