Thumbs up Kudos to the Mountain Goat staff

While section hiking in the north east a slippery, rocky trail and two falls later brought me in to Manchester Center, Vt with a slightly bent Liki pole. Not only did I receive a cheery salutation, a repaired pole... free of cost, but also suggestions for a place serving breakfast and overnight accomodations at a reasonable cost in this rather 'fashionable location' from the friendly folks at Mountain Goat. The "hiker friendly" reception, service and advice that I received was probably not out of the ordinary from these fine folks, and I might suggest that should your hiking needs in this area require similar service that you contact them with complete "hiker confidence". Kudos to all three of those with whom I spoke, and sorry that I didn't get your names.

Very much agree...The Mountain Goat in Manchester Center, VT is first class. This small town actually has two good outfitters, the other being an EMS.

More good reasons to support your local outfitter, no matter where you are.
