Sure, you can get maps at every trailside rest area .
Seriously, if you don't want to shell out for the full set ahead of time, then you'll have to hope that outfitters in resupply towns along the way have them in stock. Another alternative might be to order them from the Appalachian Trail Council and have them shipped to a post office further up the Trail just before that section.
