Default walmart IMUSA grease pot cooking system

I figure that while I'm waiting for the water to drip (or not) through my walmart fabric I'd show ya'll the grease pot cook set I put together last night.

I haven't gotten to weigh it yet, but it's pretty darn light. I think it should make passable coffee if I grind it coarse. The holes in the strainer are pretty small. The grease pot was less than 4$, the copper tube and the stakes were 5$ together, and I have lots left.

<5 minute boils for .9l using slx.

IMUSA small .9l grease pot with strainer and lid

penny stove with priming/spill safety tray (fruit can lid)
folding pot stand from landscape cloth staples and small copper tubing
    aluminum flashing windscreen
    4oz alcohol
    bic

With a little bending of the handle, this will nest in the larger IMUSA 1.7l greasepot for small groups

They have those at K-Mart, too, in the kitchens sundries section.

The little one is in the kitchen accessories section. One walmart near me has them the other doesn't. IMUSA caters to latinos, and the walmart that has them does as well. I think you're best bet to find them is near latino population centers.

So they will have them in NJ then . JK thanks for the hint. I have always been looking for a pot that has a lid with a handle or knob.

    THanks!!

there is also a smaller version of the posted pot, about 700ml by appearance... doesn't come with a lid though. then again, the lid from the bigger pot fits perfectly....

like i said, you need the lid from the larger pot for use on the smaller one...

Try an independent "supermercado" type of grocery store where the signs are mostly in spanish. I've also seen stuff like this in asian and indian markets.

    Default Weights and measures

I found a Walmart with both size grease dispensers, plus the 10 cm/4" mug.

The mug was $2, weighs 2.7 ounces, and holds 3 cups of water when filled to the brim (you wouldn't want to use it this way). 2 cups of water is 1-1/8 inches down from the brim, leaving a good space for boiling. Cup is about 3.5 inches tall. Bar code is 0 94046 10065 7.

The 1.5 quart/1.4 liter grease dispenser was $8, weighs 8.7 ounces (before removing plastic and label). Bar code is 0 94046 70011 6.

I didn't buy the 0.9 liter grease dispenser, although I meant to. Something about shopping with a 10-year-old distracted me.

The smaller pot and the mug were located with the kitchen gadgets (whisks, measuring cups, spatulas, matches), and the larger pot was in the stock pot area.

    Hope this helps someone!
