i would ticket those who carry big packs. it makes my knees hurt looking at them
I would ticket those who seem to live on the trails and are constantly asking to borrow something.

You might consider amending that to: purists who diss non-purists
that's up to you
As far as I am concerned, non-criminal tickets should only be given to those who think that they are better than any one else in any way. Oops, guess most would get a ticket for something, if nothing else, for thinking they are better than those who deserve a ticket.
People who want to talk to me when I am getting into an up hill grove and they are heading down hill and want to stop and talk. And then they ask me how far is the next shelter and whats the tail like.
I am reminded of when I was doing the through hike in the Smokies and we asked a guy at Newfound Gap how the trail was. He said it was mostly level even though it was up hill the next 3 miles or so to the shelter.
Man I guess I better learn to type terrapin, even spell check doesn't help. It my be more interesting to talk tail than trail but I meant trail.
I would ticket people who smoke in the shelter while I am sleeping. Actually happened in the Smokies.
people who litter and leave cig butts everywhere
If given the power to write tickets in the Smokies I would have to say that when I came across Idiots that I would have to cite them with a ticket.
What is an Idiot you might ask? If you search you will find a story by me that occured many years ago with a couple that lived in Glasgow, KY and I ran into them while backpacking up around Spence Field.
No butt packs, no water, no packs, no food, no flashlight, etc., etc.. They ended up trying to sleep on the trail when the sun went down and they could not see where they were going.
The night before a very cold rain had occured that lasted for hours. If it had been the night before someone could have died.
Oh, if I only had the power to cite an idiot. But then I would have to cite myself as well if I was going to be honest with myself for I have done my share of stupid things as I was leanring about backpacking.
