Glassmine Gap

hello looking to hop off the trail at glassmine gap now. earlier i intended to get off sooner in NC but i have a few extra days to spend on the trail. are there any easy pickup points for areas close to glassmine? as always thanks...

There is a blue blaze trail that will take you to the backcountry parking lot at Standing Indian Campground. 2 miles though. Personally, I would carry on until you get to Wallace Gap and then have your ride pick you up there. From Wallace Gap, it is a mile road walk to Rainbow Springs Campground where there are all the facilities one could ask for. Easy to get to, your ride could meet you there as well. It is about 3 miles further from Glassmine Gap not including the road walk. Hitches are ususally pretty easy to get at this point.

We took that Glassmine Gap blue blazed trail to Standing Indian last year in early August. It was very wet - lots of little waterways to cross. Was a pretty fast hike though.
