Interesting to see how wide spread this article has been picked up. Chi-Town. Not too shabby.

Default I posted a comment there...

About how uphill the struggle for officially adding the Pinhoti to the AT would be, especially since the GA clubs appear disinterested in doing their part of what would need to be done.

I'm being PAID to be on a woody mountain at over 8000' in the Colorado Rockies. It's cool enough at night to need a thin blanket. I get to hike here on my days off...

I was saying that to my wife yesterday. It was a nice day, excepting the 92 degrees and 90% humidity.

Uh oh, I hope you're not there as part of an evil plot to harvest the mountains for energy.

I'm here to do my patriotic part to help RESIST the evil plot by the *********** to deny needed petroleum to an energy-hungry America (and getting paid in the process). A win-win if you ask me...

Besides, I promise that the mountains I work on 1) will be essentially the same height (within microns) when I'm through here, and 2) that they are indistinct, no-name ones in the middle of nowhere that no one but cattlemen and hunters were going on before the oil industry got here in any event.

    Default Well, that was interesting...

I made my standardized detailed comment there about the obstacles in the way of getting the Pinhoti officially accepted as part of the AT. Not only did my comment get deleted, they CLOSED the article to comments.

Looks like all they want on the subject of the Pinhoti is mindless rah-rah B.S., not a substantive discussion.

Default Okay, now I have to take that back...

They put the comments section active again, and my post there is back. Wonder what's going on at the Chicago Sun-Times?
