Second Hawk Vittles, mentioned above by Seeker. One meal feeds two people easily, tastes great. Good variety, too.

I third it. It was mentioned earlier that the vittles are 8 bucks plus per meal, which is only partially true, As HR says, they feed two people easily so cut the price in half for per meal.

Haha, I've eaten that as a meal at least 3 time in the past month... can't imagine how I forgot to bring it on-trail...

Wow David - This thread is two years old!
Dogs are excellent judges of character, this fact goes a long way toward explaining why some people don't like being around them.

Yeah. This is now. And Adventure Foods isn't closed down.

When I read that the first time, I sent an email. I asked what's happening.

I said. I will keep you listed on my website. And they are back. Okay?

Go fast and light.com has some of the Mountain House 10# cans at a good price, I received an e-mail from them earlier and posted on another thread.
The Beef Stroganoff is 20.96 each and they have a few other choices.

What was their reply? At the time back then they had their "closed" notice on the website. Your comment is the first I have heard about them coming back - is it them or did they get a new owner?

"IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO ALL OUR CUSTOMERS
Adventure Foods will be filling orders only until February 29, 2008 when we will begin consideration of reorganization possibilities. We will be happy to fill your orders until that time, but our normally reduced winter inventory of ingredients will make some items in short supply.

We appreciate your support and your patience during our hiatus and apologize to all our customers for any inconvenience this may cause you.
    Thank you

Love the idea of having scouts make up their meals in advance. In addition to saving $$, you teach them about food. Good stuff, and good luck to you.
