General's didn't glow, thats kind of a unique problem at least you won't walk into it. I used kelty tripteese cord to guy it out and thats why the picture came out with white strings.

Sportsman Guide is now showing camo POLY tarps, they are far heavier and stonger, and not what I was looking for.

I know that the glow cord is good for not tripping over at night, but doesn't it kind of defeat the purpose of being camoflaged to some degree

That's reminds me of a joke about the guy who bought a camo jacket, hung it in his closet and then couldn't find it when he wanted to wear it.

No the best was when a platoon wearing camo was in front of a commedian and he looked at them and said " My tax dollars paid top dollar for those camo clothes and damn it I CAN STILL SEE YOU!!!!!

Kelty Trip teese only reflects light from flashlights / headlamps - the tarp is still hard to make out day or night at a distance.

There's got to be a Steven Wright joke about this somewhere.

Because someone may like knowing this, and with no intention to steal so much as a whisper of General's thunder, Ray Jardine now has urethane camo. From the News link on his website:

    2009/02/18
For the soldier in one's life, stationed in Iraq etc, and for the person who wants to simply blend in, we now have urethane camouflage material for making Ray-way Tarps and Backpacks. With a tarp made of this material, nobody will dare mess with you in your sleep. They might think you are a soldier, armed and dangerous More on this material for making kits, soon.

I have no connection to either maker - I've made one Ray-Way tarp and enjoy using it. Never seen his urethane materials, so no clue on weight. Hike yer own hike, mileage may vary, make or buy yer own gear, but get out there.

what are the chances of getting tarp material in a more modern pattern? what i'm looking for specifically is CADPAT, or even MARPAT. on hennessy's site they mention the availability of both patterns for the Survivor hammock model. that's the only place i've ever seen anything like it though.

the outdated and not-so-camo woodland pattern doesn't really do it for me, so i'm hoping someone could maybe point me in the right direction. i'm actually crawling around on Google right now looking for any leads, but so far nothing.
