Summer Sierras and Winters in Death Valley.

37.20 oz '11 ULA Circuit (all options removed except mesh pocket)
33.20 oz Tarptent Moment (w/o stakes and seam sealed)
    33.60 oz Rab Summit 500 (15*, 1/2 zip bag)
16.40 oz Exped Synmat UL7 (w/o stuff sack or repair kit)

    120.4 oz/7.52 lbs total.

Switching to a quilt next season which will cut half a pound. Probably add a 1/8 pad to the Synmat, wish I could get away with just foam. Don't really see myself going the Tarp/pyramid route any time soon, although the Hexamid looks very appealing. Circuit size is perfect for a bear can or multiple gallons of water.

I'm just in the planning stages now but here is the list for my planned gear purchases:Pack: SMD Starlite- 24ozTent: Lightheart SoLong 6- 26ozStakes: Easton Aluminum (6)- 2ozBag: REI Sub Kilo 20- 30ozPole: Leki*CorkL AERGON SpeedL-17oz*Pad B: Thermarest Z Lite 3/4- 10ozPad Me: Thermarest Z Lite- 14ozTotal: 123oz - 7lbs 11ozI'm carrying 2 pads for 2 reasons. 1) I'll be taking my dog and want him off the floor on cold nights, and 2) my pack uses a 3/4 length pad for support but I'd prefer a full length while sleeping. How do I put spaces between lines of texts?-Nick

Nope. I've read mixed reviews, but I was planning to bring a liner and I'll always have the option of wearing my clothes to bed.

We just got back from a 3 day section hike..Woodys Gap to Unicoi Gap (about 32 miles) and took our new Gossamer Gear G4 packs... empty Cindy's was size small at 16oz mine was 16.5oz. Very simple but light packs and did a great job. Very satisfied with this one.

Cindy does a quick review http://youtu.be/C2oJ9nGYqoQ

    Enjoy!

I'm still using my 8-year old Granite Gear Nimbus Ozone with a Top Lid, but I'm looking for a lighter pack for future summer hikes:
    .
Pack: Granite Gear Nimbus Ozone w/ Top Lid (50 oz)
Summer Bag: Western Mountaineering HighLite (16 oz)
Pad: Therma-Rest NeoAir shortie (9 oz)
Tarp: zPacks Cuben Tarp (7 oz)
    .
    Total weight = 82 oz (5.13 lbs)
    Total weight with ULA Ohm 2.0 @ 30 oz = 62 oz (3.88 lbs)

    Golite Quest large: 3lb10oz
Cut down and modified ridgerest winter pad: 16oz
    Modified tarptent: 16oz
    0degree(really a 15, probably)modified quilt: 2lbs8oz

Total: 8lbs2oz, but it is comfortable to me, and I don't carry much else in gear. I can camp comfortably down to about 10 degrees with my extra clothing, total base weight is around 12lbs or less, don't have an exact figure.

    Lightheart SoLong tent: 27.5oz
Mountain Hardwear Phantom 32 deg. bag: 23oz
*Sea to Summit Reactor Compact Plus bag liner: 9.3oz
    ULA Circuit pack: 36oz
Thermarest Prolite (small) sleeping pad: 11oz
    Total: 6.68lbs

*I included my bag liner in the "big four" since I consider it part of my sleeping bag. Of course, I didn't include my pillow (4oz), Tyvec footprint (5oz), stuff sack or tent stakes. That would make it about 7.5lbs. I like seeing everyone else's setup. Good thread!

For fun this weekend we went retro and said to hell with the grams and ounces.
We were in the Red River Gorge for 3 days.
I carried a Jansport Carson at around 4 pounds 12 ounces.
An Optimus 99R at a pound not counting a honking fuel bottle.
Still in a hammock though, a double Neutron at 12 ounces, but had a 0F under and top quilt.
3+ days of food and a quart of water and I hovered at 28 pounds and ENJOYED it
p.s. I did leave the 60/40 parka at home.
Start out slow, then slow down.

A 99R THE ALUMINUM ONE! My dad bought me an 8R as a birthday present early in my scouting adventures. Nothing like taking a brass & steel stove & protect it in a steel box. Carried it for years for far to many miles I wish to recall.
