GA Parking Areas

Does anyone have, or can link me to, the GPS coordinates for all of the GA AT Trailhead parking areas? The Google Map linked by the GA AT Club is quite difficult to acquire this information from.

If you don't get the coordinates, try this.

Go to the google map you were referring to. Double click on a parking icon to center the map then put this in your browser address field.

You'll get a popup with the coordinates of the center of the map, which should be what you double clicked on. It may not be perfect, but should be pretty close.

You can make that javascript into a bookmark so you don't have to keep cutting and pasting it.

Note that the coordinates you get will be in decimal, if you need minutes, you can use google math to convert. Paste the decimal coordinates into google followed by "degrees in minutes" without the quotes.

On the individual pages linked from this page, http://rohland.homedns.org/AT/State/...menu.aspx?id=5 , are some Google maps for parking areas. As said above you can get the GPS from the Google map coordinates. There are some websites that will do the conversion for you if needed.

Can't you just put the cursor where you want it and look at the bottom to see the coords?

Sort of related, I suppose but I'd advise against parking at Woody Gap in GA. When I went through last year, I witnessed cars being broken into just after dark. They got one of the guys that night but not sure if there are others...
