I usually have a destination in mind that I think I can get to in seven or eight hours. If it turns out to be shorter or longer, then that's what it turns out to be. I usually don't adjust the destination unless I think I'll run out of daylight. (I do not like hiking in the dark).

I've had 1 hour days and 14 hour days but typically, 8-10.

Generally 8-10 I guess. Like to start at 7 or so, hope to be done by 4 but often decide then to move on, so, not infrequently, I end up hiking till 7 or 8 in the summer. I guess a more accurate range for me would be 8-12, with plenty of exceptions. All depends on how I'm feeling at quitting time.

We're all over the place. We've hiked as little as 2 hours and as many as 16.

8-12 depends on terrain and time of year. If it's "flat" and the weather is nice I'm more likely to put in a 12 hour day but if there's a lot of ups and downs, then why put myself through that for more than 8 or 9 hours?

Usually around 9 hours in the Spring or Fall, and up to 12 in the summer as I like to walk after dinner as the light slants through the trees.

My days are usually 8-10 hours regardless of how many stops I make. My days of 20 milers are probably over. 16-18 is tough unless it's railroad bed flat.
