    Default Hike or swim???

I'm heading out Sunday night from Missouri to the LT for an E2E. With all the rain Vt. has received lately, I was concerned about any dangerous creek fords. Would there be any benefit to a NOBO compared to a SOBO considering the MUD and run off?

There aren't any significant fords on the LT, just a few brroks to rock-hop over, although if the Lamoille River is very high it can block the crossing of the side channel just south of the suspension bridge. If that's the case, a one-mile road walk will get you around the high water.

Right now, water levels are back to normal, as the daily rains stopped in early August. The usual muddy spots are muddy as usual, but there's really no extra precautions needed. The trail is in good shape.

Now that I've said that, it's gonna rain real bad.
