I'm hiking the Big Run trl in SNP. A large black bear crosses the trail 50 ft in front of me, I stop, and fish inmy pocket for my camera. It sees me a and bolts away. Less than a second after I hear a crashing thru the bushes near where the other bear exited, and its another bear, and running TOWARDS ME!! I'm freakin' terrified. Something just isn't right, and the bear leaps into a tree, 3 feet off of the ground. then a small bear cub crosses the trail behind the treed bear, that's the same size. Yes, I nearly **** my pants, at the sight of a cub riunning towards me.

I'm not sure how cool it was at the time but I walked into a field of Moose and their young about 2 am one morning in Wyoming - I was already disoriented and had to ford a big creek (more like a river) to avoid them - I walked down the other side a ways to a highway and then figured out where I was about the time the sun came up.

They must have smelled your garbage bag you left lying outside your tent.

You're probably right. Just the other morning I woke up and cows had knocked my garbage cans over again.
