    Default Class of 2025

I tried a thru in 2008 and got 700 miles. Is it too early to start a thread for us middle aged persons that are planning on hiking after retirement?

LOL I was thinking the same thing. Although, I wouldn't mind being in the class of 2025

    I keep thinking:

    ZEKE:

I think it's great that you're looking that far ahead.

That being said, I see that you're fifty now, which would make you 67 in the year 2025.

If at all possible, I'd try really hard to thru-hike before you're 67.

I'll be ready to go, I'll only be 39.

Hi Jack.. That sounds like good advice but I let 67 pass me by while I was working and am planning on SOBO next year in June. Any advice..

I might be in this class if I live to see it. 2025 is suppose to be my retirement year. I hope that I can retire before then and I pray that it doesn't move back.

2025? Yikes. I would 70! And I thought waiting to 2013 is an eternity.

Barring unexpected suddden wealth, which is, sadly, not likely, I'm in for 2118. Maybe 2117 as a southbound. Meanwhile I'll enjoy hiking in the Northwest. Any interest in a more general discusion of the needs of us older hikers?

2117...2118? That'll make you what, about 165? You might want to consider going slightly before the turn of the century while you're a bit younger.

Here in eastern Washington? We just go a two+ foot dump in the valleys. Nothing special in the mountains yet.

165 years old! I was only planning to live to 156. Must be one of my rare typos.

Model T spent quite awhile serving his country as an officer in the United States Marine Corps, so I suspect he did his share of hiking long before he turned 67.

Just think Zeke,in 2025 they may have chair lifts up and down the steeper grades and you can tell the newby's.Gee,I remember when you had to actually climb up and down those on foot. They have already starting to put wheel chair ramps up to the privy's in Georgia.

Only 156? Why be such a pessimist?
