Parking on Max Patch Road?

My son and a friend are going to join a thru hiker for a weekend hike. They are going to try and meet him at Max Patch Road, hike 35 miles + or - and pick up a car that will be left for them. I don't have my Data book to check these logistics but that is the plan I heard from them today. Anyone have a suggestion on parking in that area? Safer place to leave a vehicle than Max Patch Road? Any suggestions appreciated.

I'd call Curtis at Standing Bear Farm and see if you could park it there. He could also shuttle them up to Max Patch road if need be.

there are two parking areas at max patch. one is directly at the bottom of the mountain on max patch road and the other is just before that on the right. the second one is set down from the road a little and behind some trees. i've never had any problems parking there for extended periods of time.

Would you recall if the parking area at the bottom of the mountain on max patch road is near a USF Ranger building??? Thanks!

There are no USFS buildings in the area.
