Default Road to Tellico Gap, NC

Has anyone accessed the road (NC 1365) to Tellico Gap in NC lately. Looks like several miles of gravel road. We'll be stopping there on our next section hike and am wondering if 4 wheel drive may be needed. Thanks!

I drove it last Feb in a Mustang, no problems. Its in great shape, and a real nice drive too.
