Default Long Trail Vermont - NE 100 Highest

Please correct me if I'm wrong on any of this but I believe there are 14 Vermont mountains on NE 100 Highest list. Of those 14 there are 10 that are either directly on the Long Trail or so close to essentially be on the Long Trail (Mansfield, Killington, Camels Hump, Ellen, Abraham, Pico, Stratton, Jay Peak, Bread Loaf, Wilson).

That leaves 4 further off the trail.
Equinox is west of Manchester Center
Dorset is a little north of Manchester Center
Big Jay is not far from Jay in Division 12 but you need to take a herd path
Mendon Peak is not far from Killington but there is no trail.

I'm thinking I won't have the time but has anyone on whiteblaze hit those 4 peaks as part of their End-to-End Long Trail hike? Seems like that would be a fun little side challenge. Just curious for the thoughts of whiteblaze!

You are correct! Big Jay and Mendon would make nice side trips from the LT. The Big Jay path is right off the ski trail from Jay Peak. The usual route to Mendon is from the valley west of Killington... making a side trip from the LT might mean a miserable struggle through dense high-elevation spruce forest.
