    Default Parking At Elk Park

I've heard parking can be troublesome at Elk Park-NC. Is there another safer place close by to leave a car?

No place is safe to leave a car. Instead, take everything out of your car, leave the glove box open and the doors unlocked. that way your windows wont get broken when they steal nothing from your car.
up over the hills, theres nothing to fear
theres a pub across the way with whisky and beer
its a lengthy journey on the way up to the top
but it ain't so bad if you have a great big bottle o'scotch

Another vote for Mountain Harbour Hostel. Terrry and Mary are great people and if you stay overnight they make a breakfast out of this world.

Mountain Harbor is the only real safe parking around 19E. Your next stop then is Dennis Cove.

From 19E to the Bitter End forest road, it is used to be nicknamed the Combat Zone.

I've been to Elk River Falls and it is a great swimming hole but I don't think I'd park there for any length of time.

Parked at Mountain Harbour last weekend and Terry gave me a shuttle. Nice folks...recommended.

My bad...Normals right...There is no overnight parking there. Mainly do that area teenagers once made it a make-out spot, and many stupid kids killed themselves jumping off the cliffs.
