What will I be looking at for fees at shelters?
5 dollars when applicable.
But only applicable in the Whites.
It seems like I remember at least one in Vermont at Stratton Pond. By shelters I assume you mean shelters/leantos and not the high mountain huts operated by AMC in the Whites which are substantially more expensive.

Yes, there are a places on the LT that charge, and the fee is five dollars.
I will gladly save you a spot for 5 bucks!

I recall the shelters/campsites in the Whites as being more like $8.

What about the huts in the Whites? I stayed at one and it was WAY more than $5...
Why do people keep talking about the huts in the White mountains, this is the Long Trail forum?!?
