Correct me if I'm wrong, please, but I find it amusing that those who appear to have the strongest opinion on the definition of a thru-hiker aren't actually thru-hiking now?

I think if you sign your name to a lie you're a liar.
If I ever sign my name to the form I will be signing to the truth.
It seems to me that many of the people who have the strongest opinions may have signed their name to a lie.

I'd say anything above 90% is well deserved. Enjoy the patch you earned and deserve.

I heard Georgia was originally set up as a penal colony also, as a sort of barrier to the Spanish in Florida. Of course the full and complete history is alot more complicated than that I would imagine. I watched a cricket game down on the field here on Wednesday. Some students from India and Pakistan and Bangladesh were playing a game now that exams are over. They looked like they were having a pretty good time. It was fun too watch. Didn't last 40 days and 40 nights either. Sports are great, the way they connect people. Chess is something you can do when travelling abroad also. Nice way to connect with people. You don't even need to share a language. I learned how to play spanish checkers with some souveinier vendors in the Dominican and that was way cool. After a couple of days they didn't mind so much me hanging around. After a week they didn't want my shoes and money, not all of it anyway. lol

As I was walking through the Grayson Highlands today, there were a bunch of ponies blocking the AT. Would a purist have to shoo the ponies out of the way? How far of The True Path is one allowed to step?

Never mind that! Did you read in the latest Journeys about the geek who counted EVERY WHITE BLAZE between Springer & Katahdin?! I'm glad he's not a trail maintenance supervisor or anything.

No, but if you walked Skyline Drive in Shenandoah - as you previously said you did - you should be ashamed of your math skills.

I've only taken a couple blue blazed trails thus far. By far, my favorite is the Wesser Creek Trail. It splits from the AT right at Wesser Bald Shelter just north of the NOC. If you're ever in that neck of the woods, give it a go, it's a beautiful hike.

I completely agree. They should be tarred and feathered and I think that a fine and/or prison time isn't out of the question. A year in a state prison ought to fix their wagon. We should probably waterboard them too because they might have info on other cheaters.

Perhaps Guantanamo Bay should be reopened for blue blazers

I did just that...the first one was cool because it was "new" but the blueblaze was prettier and more enjoyable.
