The trail was here before we arrived, and it will still be here when we are gone...enjoy it now, and preserve it for others that come after us

Old books from the 1970's have some plans.

"Lightweight Camping Equipment and how to make it" 5th edition by Gerry Cunningham and Margaret Hansson

"Making Camping and Outdoor Gear" by David Platten (1981)

"Outdoor Gear You Can Make Yourself" by Mareia and Bob Lamoreaux (1976)

You can buy them used or have your library find them via Interlibrary Loan. I am not going to tell you to make copies of the books or pages, as that would violate copyright law.
