    Question AT Movies Online??

So I'm going to pick up LK's Walking With Freedom tomorrow at Campmor but I'm wondering if there are any AT movies available to watch online to help scratch this itch. I've watched nearly everything AT related on YouTube and Vimeo. Any suggestions?

Something along these lines but for the AT.

Try Google Video, lots of interesting stuff under an 'Appalachian Trail' search.

Those videos just don't do the A.T. justice though. There might be one out there but I've yet to find it. I'd like to find a good movie/doc or something about A.T.

I can't believe there's nothing really out there?

Nothing in HD? Just random clips on YouTube.

Someone needs to do this properly, maybe I'll do it.

The CDT has all the good online videos.

Wife and I were walking around Pen Mar this weekend and there was a crew filming there...We laugh cause one of the hikers was this blond, hair perfect, getting makeup on, low cut top and the line we heard her say was the water is over there pointing to the a railroad tracks. So maybe in a year you'll will be able to watch that b-movie

Yes, yes, yes. The made in england one is awesome, done in HD.

Also, there's a great one on the PCT available for free called "Walking the West"

Someone do one of these for the AT!

Come on all you AT hikers...the other two trails have high quality, 1hr or so docs online. Where are yours?
(Note: The online ones are generally lower res. You usually have to procure the higher quality DVD to see it full screen mode in good resolution)

I watched Trek last night. It was very good. Once I watch these types of video (Appalchian Impressions, Southbounders, etc.), I get this little voice inside of me that says, "Stop watching and get outside." I paused Trek about 3 or 4 times and went out for walks. It took me almost 3 hrs to complete the video. I got Springer Fever in June!!

Of the videos I've watched, I enjoyed TREK the most. I've yet to get tired of it.

I've got Appalachian Impressions, 5 Million Steps and TREK all on DVD here at the house.... I like to watch them on Thursday nights and then get out on the weekends.... Watched them in a marathon watching session right before a 1 week trip... Really does put me in the correct frame of mind.

On a side note, one of the reasons that you might not see them online is because the creators won't release the rights to put them online....

And I fully understand where they are coming from. If I spent the time, money, and energy documenting a thru hike, I think I'd have a hard time releasing it to the public domain. But if your goal is to share your film and get it in front of as many people as you can, some type of delivery method (paid or free) on the web is the route you must take.

Not to get off topic in my own thread but I really can't believe the Kiwi hiker in Walking the West gives up just 60 miles short of the Canadian border.

I have never seen Five Million Steps. Is that a good one?
