Default A new thread about bugs - August 15-Sept. 7

Looks like I'll be taking off August 15 northbound. Any local experts have a best guess about skeeters and other bugs? I'm trying to decide between tarp and tent. Thanks.

what state are you hiking in?
I'm so confused, I'm not sure if I lost my horse or found a rope.

Long Trail - waffling between walking Inn at Long Trail to Journey's End, or just starting at the southern end and walking north for as many days as I have.

Since we have had such a wet summer, you are likely to experience some bugs -- not the hordes of black flies and mosquitos of June, but some. I would take a tent.
