Default Good trail guide book ???

I am looking for a good trail guild book that lists points of interest such as waterfalls and sites to see along with detailed information about good camping spots and streams that have good drinking water ? What would everyone recommend ?

    Welcome to Whiteblaze!

First question: Are you talking about the AT?

If so, there are three major guidebooks:

    http://www.aldha.org/comp_pdf.htm

    http://www.trailplace.com/hb_2009edition.html

    http://www.appalachianpages.com/

Each of these cover the whole AT.

If you're interested in a particular section, the map sets usually have guidebooks which are much more detailed than any of the comprehensive guidebooks.

Thru-hikers don't normally carry these section guidebooks, but section hikers often use them as references for the section they are about to hike.
    If not NOW, then WHEN?
