I agree with Blue Jay that stemming the tide of cell phone prevalence is not a possibility, BUT I would like to think that our national parks are a last bastion in which wilderness takes precedent over the encroachments of society. I would like to think that Blue Jay is wrong about hikers in support of cell access throughout the few remaining wilderness areas and would hope that more importantly they would be concerned with preserving the integrity of the wilderness they seek. However, I believe that the avarice of humanity knows no bounds. All be damned for our convenience.

Yes they are copying a rare fir tree that does exist. I have the real thing just down the street from me in a Arbor. I find it funny when they attract vultures.
Dogs are excellent judges of character, this fact goes a long way toward explaining why some people don't like being around them.

Current Verizon access around Baxter -- It appears Canada is way ahead of Maine.

Can't post pictures here, I wonder why?

Sprint/Nextel does not work in most of Maine. lets roughly say 10%

ATT covers 50 % and no where near the park

Verizon is a clear winner for this state.

Maine takes great pride in being twenty years behind everyone.
