Default SOBO: Northern California in October

Do snow conditions at that time of year make it a bad idea? I was thinking of doing the OR border to Burney Falls.

While it's possible to see snow in Oct between the OR border and Burney Falls it will probably not be heavy enough that it should be a problem hiking this section. If memory serves me right you are not at very high elevations in the araes you mention. See if you can get a northern Cali PCT book that desribes trail conditions typically encountered at various times of the year on those sections you mentioned.
