    Default Planning ahead

After completing my most memorable section hike of my 10 years of hiking the trail, I am beginning my planning for next year's section hike. For me, it's kinda like the carrot on the stick.

So, starting at Highway 16 in Pennsylvania, what would be a reasonable distance to plan to obtain going NOBO in around 9 to 10 days. This past section, I did about 178 miles from Loft Mt. in the Shenandoah NP to Highway 16 in around 14 days.

My reasoning for asking is obviously not knowing where oh where those pesky rocks are and judging by the maps, it looks fairly flat with the exception of climbing up and down ridges.

    Thanks for your advise.

Rocks aren't really an issue until north of Port Clinton.
    Happy planning and dreaming!
