    Default re-supply at Crawford Notch

Hi folks, I'm new to the site. I'm hiking for a week in the White Mountains and was looking to re-supply at or around Crawford Notch. Does anyone have any suggestions/experiences as to where, or how to best re-supply in that area? I'm entertaining mailing a parcel as well.

    Thank you,

    Val

The town of North Conway has everything you might need for resupply. It's not a bad hitch/yogi.

I've only been there once and that worked for me. Locals may be able to give you more or better info.

There is a General Store about two miles east, also has cabins to stay in.

The closest grociery store for a resupply is in Glen NH which is east on RT 302 in the direction of North Conway. North Conway, does have everything but is spread out over several miles of road. If you just need food, the grocery store in Glen should have what you need and it should be a one hitch trip. Its in a small strip mall just before the intersection of RT 16 and Rt 302)There is a campground store a couple of miles from the trail crossing in the same direction as North Conway (right onto RT 302 if you are northbound). Skip the Dry River State campground as it has no services and skip the Willey Slide tourist site unless you want an ice cream and knick knacks.

You can get a hot meal at the top of Mt Washington (limited) and buy some snacks there.

For you day hikers, the hike to the top of Mt Willey from Willey House is not an easy hike, but, is worth the effort. Good view of the Presidentials up there. The Willeys were my ancestors (not direct ones obviosly if you know the history). The Willey disaster started a lot of theological discussions in the day and Nathaniel Hawthorne wrote a story about it.
I'm not really a hiker, I just play one on White Blaze.
