Does anyone know how the camping might be at or near Poplar Stomp Gap in Georgia.

    It is at mile 42.5.

    How is the water source?

    Camping at Poplar Stamp Gap:

Water is seasonally available at a stream about 600 ft. down an old fire road
to the right , (if you are NOBO) it may be a longer walk down before reaching
running water if it has been dry.

The gap is easy to miss because the trail rises to the gap.

I was there two weeks ago. There has been a lot of bear activity in the area recently, and I recommend that camp at Low Gap Shelter and use the bear cables or else be prepared to hang your food and cook away from your tent site. Water is pretty plentiful at all of the marked water sites. Low Gap has water for sure, and it's been raining steadily since then. Chattahoochee Gap also has water.
