    Default Trail Condition Standing Indian to Wayah

    Im planning a section hike from Standing Indian to Wayah Bald starting Thursday 9/24/09 going thrugh to Sunday. This is in the Frankin, NC area. Does anyone have any information about the condition of the trail since it has been raining steadily in the area? Thanks

    Hey Mick
    Not sure of trail conditions but i have a friend who lives in Franklin and he says they have had about 11" of rain on the mountain in the last week

    I don't know about the trail condition but weather forecast calls for more rain coming in on Friday and hanging around through the weekend. That was one of the areas that received heavy rain earlier this week so if more rain moves in I can only imagine trail conditions will get worse.

    WET and MUDDY . . . count on it! Look on the bright side though . . . you should have to carry little, if any water, depending on how, if, and with what you treat water with.
