I like to dip fries in Tzatziki Sauce. It's that creamy cucumber yogurt sauce from Greek Restaurants. Yummy!

    Malt vinegar

Sharp Cheddar(Block) sliced thin and a touch of milk and Grey Poupon to taste melted and poured over the fries.
Dogs are excellent judges of character, this fact goes a long way toward explaining why some people don't like being around them.

Yea, I am a mustard fanatic, so I skip the ketchup and go straight for the mustard, every time. But I think i may be the only one here in n.alabama.

Then again, I am trying to avoid fried foods these days, so meh.

There's an all night place called City Cafe in Chattanooga, TN that does home fries with brown gravy and cheddar cheese. They call 'em disco fries, and they're awesome, especially after you've had a couple pints/shots too many and you need to get yourself straightened out with grease and carbs.

    Two traditions from Burlington, VT:

Vinegar on Al's French Fries, or
    Fries 'n' Gravy from Nector's

If you're from the area, sorry I just made you drool.

I also dip in tartar sauce (when there's any leftover after I've dipped my fried clams)

    So, quick question.

Up here, it's pretty much ketchup. When I lived in Europe, in some places it was mayonnaise . In Maryland, at the right diner, they'll give you gravy, which is actually pretty good.

But this "mustard on my fries" thing is new to me.

So tell us, where do you live, and what goes on the fries?
    Ranch Dressing....yum

Chips (fries) and curry sauce is very popular in England (more so up north). As is chips, cheese and beans (especially after a night out on the town).

I've had them that way, too. Extra good. I don't remember where, though.
In New England, ketchup is the way we do it.
Side note: Chile is the country. Chili is the pepper (which the sauce is named for).

I forgot to mention that a friend from the Boston area used to have fries with Russian or Thousand Island dressing on them (sort of like ketchup and mayo together). I liked that, too.

I love mustard and go through it like crazy at home, maybe a large bottle every two weeks and maybe go through a large bottle of ketchup every year. But when it comes to fries its ketchup for my go to option. Every once in a while I will mix the ketchup and mustard or just use mustard without a problem if there is no ketchup. If I can get it though I will use white gravy over them both. If not one of these three Ill just eat them plain with plenty of seasoning (cajun is best)

In France we used mustard, but I liked the Belgian mayo better. Now I usually use barbeque sauce, if anything. Occasionally mayo, especially when hiking.
