Blueberries in Maine

I much enjoyed the blueberries on top of Moxie Bald Mountain and elsewhere--the fire up there only increased the quantity...I've raked blueberries in the barrens around Machias--best money a common laborer can make. Last year a friend made $5000 in the month of August and part of September raking blueberries (piece rate). This year is not supposed to be so prolific.

You just HAVE to stop and eat some, and it always makes for a nice break. The crop is not so good this year, that I've noticed, but is better than some years that we've had.
