Florida Thru Hikers
Just curious as to how many people from Florida that are Thru Hiking the At this year.

I'm snowbirding in Florida this year somewhere. I haven't gotten a firm job jet (workcamping) so I'm not exactly sure where. Originally from Missouri, but retired Air Force last Feb and have been full-time RVing ever since. I'm definately NOBO in March; day dependant on the weather.
I'm right outside of Tampa, and I'll be hitting the trail on April 1st.
I am not thru hiking but does section hiking count? Ga. is were I will be in April.

I'm from Kissimmee, just got done with a thru hike of the FT last month, I'm be at the Hiker Hostel on the 24th, Springer the 25th.

yea, i'll be hitting springer on feb 25 ish (weather) but you'll probably catch me by the GSMNP.
I'm from Panama City Beach, ex-Army, went thru Ranger school in 1976, with fond memories of the Mountain phase in north GA. Doing all this was sure easier at age 22! One goal of this thru hike is to lose weight.
most likely will start from Springer last week of March, no later than first week April. Will see many of you all on the trail I'm sure. Best of luck to all here.

3 years ago I was reading a fiction book that had a person talk about coming off the A.T. Well I googled the A.T. and long story short I left Fort Lauderdale and moved to Damascus. Anybody from South Florida will understand why lol.

Been in Florida since December to escape the cold weather.....FAIL! Will be hitting the trail about a year from now. Springer to Damascus. Maybe beyond.
