Default Video news report on One-Leg

TV report on One-Leg from NH channel 9 is now online. It's interesting to see Scott's stride as he walks with his prosthetic leg.

I wish Scott the best of luck, but according to his journal he just started his flip-flop from Maine this week.. So he's got a long way to go before the snow flies.

I met Scott (and Flash Hand) early on in Georgia about 30 miles into his hike. I saw him coming down Blood Mountain with his daughter Casey and I realized how much harder this was for him. Don't forget, in the video he isn't carrying his backpack. He has plenty of courage and I wish him well.

I am quite surprised with how much he has done with that gait. He has to be killing his back and right knee with this. I can't imagine how he is able to do rock scrambles, much less carry much of a pack.

I'm glad to hear that his goal is to "try" and not just to finish a hike at all costs. That is plenty of reason to set off on the AT.

Thanks for posting the video link. That video gives me a much greater appreciation of the challenges that Scott faces on the trail.

Looks like One-Leg made the back cover of ATN...
