The trail was here before we arrived, and it will still be here when we are gone...enjoy it now, and preserve it for others that come after us

    Default Go Eat!

Jack, I was sorry to have missed you when I returned to Hanover in August '08 to complete my AT hike (Hanover to Monson) I started in '06. I later learned that when I was in Hanover, you were cooking meals for hikers elsewhere. (No surprise there!) However, I was dissapointed that you were unable to join me for dinner and fizz at Molly's.

So hike on down to Molly's when the mood strikes you, birthday boy. Talk to Ben or Eric or one of the other managers. The card is in their safe with your name on it... Along with my sincerest thanks for the assistance and advice you provided me (and countless others) prior to my heading into the Whites. My journey (and journey's end) was that much more satisfying because of your unselfish willingness to help a fellow hiker.

    Happy Birthday, Jack Tarlin.

May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds. —Unknown Have a drink on me at that basement bar

Happy Birthday Jack! We've met twice and you were very kind. Hope to see you on the trail again someday.
