Since my hike back in October, I have been craving at home the Italian suasage and pasta from Hawk Vittles. That stuff was pretty damn good.

Anything Little Debbie, 99 cent Arizona Iced tea, a quarter of chocolate milk, a whoopie pie (soaring A.T. popularity thanks to Etchasketch (and their ability to be packed with 800+ calories of Heavenly goodness!)) , and a big ole bag of Fritos CANNOT beat that!

My current favorite is a ripe pear with raw goat cheese. The cheese hauls well, but to have this kind of treat I have to haul at least 3 or 4 pears(and some apples). Nothing quite like fresh fruit and cheese. Or a ziploc bag of white grapes.

    Welcome Lunchbox!
Dogs are excellent judges of character, this fact goes a long way toward explaining why some people don't like being around them.

My favorite comfort food on the trail is an indiviual spam slice (foil packet) - hot and crispy around the edges - on a toasted bagel with a bit of mustard. I tend to like higher fat content (stick to your ribs food) for comfort food on trail - but not overly spicy stuff (with the exception of salt). Tortillas with melted cheddar are another favorite.

You know, I just experianced that comfort food back in August on my section hike..And I tell you,, ahh dude, that was glorious, instead of fixing a bowl of oatmeal, I slapt down a slab of spam and put it between a slice of cheese and that was all she wrote..Yes!! there is a way to live life on the trail with out the old fashion way...UmmmmmmmUmmmm Good...
