    Default Hiking in Nepal

I am thinking very seriously about a 6 week trip to Nepal in 6 months or so. I was thinking of doing the Annapurna Circuit and an Everest Base camp trek. I know both trails are fairly crowded, but I want to do the Annapurna loop before roads are built (they're in construction now).

Anyone have any suggestions for side trips, other trails, experiences to share, etc? Trying to keep things low budget, and not looking into any serious mountaineering.

    Thanks,

    Deluxe

You could check out Buddha's 2006 Other Trails journal on Trailjournals. She passed through parts of Nepal on that trip, including around Everest.

I was very happy with my trek thru Peter Owens' Asian Treks back in 2000. Peter is a Californian who now lives full time in Kathmandu. He offers many different trips or he can help you with a personalized trek. I think he might be affiliated with Crystal Treks or some name like that.
