Default The lastest issue of Backpacker Magazine...

Most of us here probably already read this magazine but for those who do not and would like to see some interesting articles on going lightweight it's a good read. Show some methodology behind it, comparisions, weight pack & BODY that can be shed, etc.

There is a short article on losing the belly before the hike verses on the hike. It showed that you could lost a 2-man tent before leaving and how great that would be. I there for lost a 26 pound pack during so when I got to the Whites with my 26 pound pack it was really like hiking without a pack at all, right!!?? Not so sure about that!

    Default keep a little belly

Skinny is never good....a little belly is an ok thing, not talking a spare tire mind you, just a little reserve for hard times-never know when they will find you

Despite working hard, I lost only about 8 lbs on my spring walk. However, I think I lost alot from around the gut and put on muscle in the legs, thus offsetting the gut-loss.
