    I would layer under it of course just looking for opinions

    Nothing wrong with Red Ledge in my opinion. Good enough gear for the price, durable enough. You have to pay a lot more to get a slightly better outer layer.

    Default Red Ledge is a good value

    I have used Red Ledge rain gear on three thru-hikes. It's served me well.

    I like my jacket...have had to spray it with DWR every now and then to keep it from wetting out.
